I read this inspiring article in The Guardian called “100 ways to get fit” where 100 ways to get fit outside the gym where listened. There where something for everyone like:
Wear lace-up shoes, not slip-ons – works the thumb and finger flexor muscles. And when they need refastening, the leg muscles are recruited.
Or
Ditch the TV remote control – getting up and changing the channel manually 10 times per day with the TV two metres from the sofa will burn 10 calories per day. That is a total of 3,650 per year – which is enough to burn one pound of body fat (would it be a good idea then for me to buy a TV in order to be able to get that exercise I wonder).
Or
Carry a basket instead of using a trolley at the supermarket – this recruits the shoulder, upper and lower arm muscles.
I thought this tip list amazing and started right away to practice some of the tips like walk up escalators and go through regular doors, not the automatic ones. I also tried the “kick the lights off “ tip on my bathroom light switch off, said to be beneficial for the frontal thigh muscles and the core stability muscles. Sadly I probably have to get fitter before trying it again as I nearly hurt my back when falling down into the bathtub as a result of the kick.
Tempted to try some of the tips yourself? Here are the link:

To day is ”Fettisdagen” in Sweden in translation to English it would be “The fat Tuesday”. Fettisdagen is the day about a month before Easter when you eat Easter buns "Semlor" in order to eat something really fatty before you start to fast. Of course now a days rarely no one is fasting the weeks before Easter, still numerous are enjoying the fatty fabulous little bun, topped with cream, filled with marzipan and best served with hot milk, mmmm.
