The Daily Summit är ett bra ställe att hålla koll på FN:s pågående "World Summit on the Information Society", en webblogg med skribenter från bl.a. BBC, The Guardian, The Times och Al Jazeera. Intressant är att läsa om hur webbplatser filtreras bort och censureras i Iran (med tanke på att Iran har ett stort uppbåd med delegater vid mötet (men det är rätt många chaufförer också)). Hossein Derakhshan är frustrerad över att detta faktum inte tagits upp mer i media.

Eric S. Raymond är inte alls förtjust i idéen med mötet: "The organizers of the Geneva summit seem to be very much the same scum of the planet that one normally finds running these U.N. events — third-string diplomatic timeservers, addle-brained NGO moonbats, a scattering of celebrity Eurotrash, and a legion of gray apparatchiks from authoritarian Third World pestholes. It didn't astonish me that they'd use force to keep out anyone who might interfere with their plans for a government-friendly, politically-correct, censored, and very thoroughly controlled Internet."
